The Achilleion Palace
The second most visited landmark of Greece, was built by Empress of Austria Elisabeth, in 1890 as a summer residence for her and her family as a retreat from the stresses of life at court. Decorated with numerous Greek-inspired statues and sculptures, of which the most iconic is the large statue of Achilles, after whom the palace was named.

Empress Elisabeth water springs 1903-1923
Just outside the borders of Gastouri village are the natural water springs that run all year round providing exceptional quality drinking water to travellers. Easily accessible by car, but more interestingly by the trail that runs from the Achilleion palace through the forest to the springs.

Benitses Village
One of the most iconic fishing villages of Corfu (there are songs about the fish from Benitses) it has become a hot spot of traditional taverns, some of the finest fish restaurants, five star resorts and a modern private marina, attracting people from all the island.

Corfu Town
Unquestionably the highlight of Corfu, now a UNESCO world heritage site, is a tribute to Venetian engineering and architecture, who crafted two imposing fortresses and a city within, which has never been breached by any invader. The British and the French added their own touches to what has become home to thousands of Corfiots and a must see for all visitors.
